Our Story
Jake and Rita Hansma opened European Deli & Catering on November 1, 1999, with the help of their children. The store was close to their home, and they also needed a location to carry on with their growing catering enterprise.
Over the years the community has been very supportive of their business. “Our aim is to provide our customers with a pleasant family shopping experience, listen to what they want, and ensure we bring in quality Dutch products they’ll recognize”! Customers can also select from a wide range of party tray items which are custom built, fresh, and ready to pick up!
The locals also know where to come for daily hearty soups and delicious sandwiches built the way you want. Extra cheese? Extra mayo or mustard? No problem!
We also sell varieties of Cheese, deli meats, and the Dutch staple “Rookworst”. This past March, Jake and Rita they have handed the reins over to their daughter Katherine who is now in charge of the store. However, retirement hasn’t held them back completely. It’s hard to stay away when you love what you do! Don’t be surprised to bump into them from time to time.
